Where there was once a cemetery – Bishan

Today in Singapore we went to Kwong wai siew peck san theng. What we initially thought was a temple turned out to be a cultural center and columbarium. Where Bishan town now sits was a 300+ acre cemetery, which together with the cultural organisation was established in the 1870s and comprise of 16 clan associations from China. The current grounds hold not just the columbarium but also a heritage center that details the history and a temple with amazing wall reliefs.
