Feeling powerful and small – Pasir Panjang power station

Today in Singapore I got a chance to visit a former power station. Built in the early 50s to cater to the growing need for electricity in the island. This demand surpassed the initial plans for the station that another one had to be built in the 60s hence getting the names A and B. The station was decommissioned in the 80s as more efficient and cleaner plants were built. The space sans the turbines feels vast and cavernous and it was very fascinating to explore. A lot of relics such as the call points, first aid notices, telephone or intercom system, fire doors etc still remain.
