Today in Alesund, we caught up with our friend from Dublin and had him show us around his town. The plan to take a lazy stroll through the park to Sunnmore museum turned into a hike up the hill behind our hotel. It had an amazing view over the city. On route we also explored a couple of WW2 bunkers and a round tower donated by the diaspora of the town.
Sunnmore museum itself was a wonderful place. It’s an open air museum/park and you can see how houses and ships were over the last few hundred years. People seemed to be a lot shorter in the 17 and 1800s as I was the only one who looked able to fit through the doorways.
We spent the evening strolling through the town looked at the buildings. I now know what art noveau is.
