Guardians of the sea – Sembawang

Today in Singapore, we went for a short stroll in Sembawang park. The tide seemed to be out which enabled us to walk along the beach beyond the park. It’s a natural beach unlike most others here but unfortunately, litter and debris from ships (I’m guessing) make it rather unpalatable for swimming, though not everyone visiting seems to think so.

We spotted two curious statues sitting on the beach. One seemingly of Chinese origin and the other Indian. They were rather worn by the elements but seemed to have been placed where they were. I imagined they are guarding the seas or those who swim there.
