To the roof of Thailand – Doi Inthanon

Today in Thailand, we set off to the top of Doi Inthanon, the tallest mountain in Thailand. Along the way we passed forests, paddy fields, and waterfalls.

At the peak itself there isn’t much of a view,  but it’s very cool and it is shrouded in a mossy forest. There is a stupa/pagoda/chedi for the 7th king of the Chiang mai region here.

Slightly lower down are the twin pagodas erected for the 60th birthdays of the king and queen of Thailand. There are also beautiful gardens in the grounds and some amazing views all around.
