A String of Hoppers – Raheny

Today in Dublin I done my best to try and revisit Sri Lanka. When I was travelling there earlier in the year I picked up the device for making string hoppers. This morning I finally tried to use it. Making the dough was easy enough and squeezing the paste to make the strings was delightful.

I made a potato hodi, dhal and coconut sambol to serve with the string hoppers. 

Taste was perfect and for a few minutes on a cold October morning in Dublin I could close my eyes and imagine myself sitting back beside the beach in Sri Lanka.
