Picnic beneath the tracks – Jurong East

image

Today in Singapore, as we walked over to our friends place I noticed several groups picnicking and chilling out in the green space under the train tracks.  I wouldn’t think it is a typical place for a gathering but there’s plenty of shade, nearby food and drinks and the grass is well manicured and litter free. It also has the added benefit of not being so crowded as the more obvious hang out places on a Sunday evening.

    1. The building is mostly retail and office. The photo didn’t show it but the area is pretty crowded with many apartment blocks to the side and behind where I was standing, so it’s likely there are many people from the local area
