It’s a long way to Sembawang

Today in Singapore,  I decided to see if walking home from work was practically possible as well as being possible in theory.  Google maps told me it was about 6.5km which seemed a reasonable distance. The first part of the walk took me through some neighborhoods I hadn’t been in before. A newish block of HDBs towered over the rest and I came across a Hindu temple where I didn’t know one existed.

After stopping for some water and snacks I followed the train tracks which would be the shortest way home. Though I was following the tracks it was via the park connector which was well lined with trees, with the occasional playground or skate park by the side.

As I got close to home,  the sun began to set and I was just in time to see an eagle (or a kite) swoop down and make off with a fish from our river.
