Today in Singapore, I was reminded of our crazy over use of plastic bags. If you buy some pastries at a shop each one would have its own little bag and then all go into another bag. Even if you buy a packet of mints at a shop they would be put into a bag unless you insisted you didn’t want one. Tea/coffee however is a unique case here. It’s very common to take it away in bags with a straw; the alternative usually being plastic/Styrofoam cups. Paper really doesn’t seem to have caught on here yet.
